The 3M 7000046913 is a 700 Series unitized abrasive wheel designed for fine finishing on hard metals and exotic alloys. Built with silicon carbide mineral bonded into a non-woven open web construction, this wheel delivers medium to hard density with increased edge durability compared to 600 Series unitized wheels. The open web resists loading, which extends service life during extended finishing runs. It is suited for metalworking professionals who require consistent surface quality on demanding materials such as titanium and other ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
This wheel is intended for finishing applications in fabrication shops, aerospace component work, and general metalworking environments where aggressive stock removal is not the goal but a fine, consistent surface finish is required. It is compatible with both clockwise and counterclockwise rotation, offering greater flexibility across different angle grinder and die grinder configurations. A unitized wheel mandrel is required for installation and is sold separately. The wheel fits center-hole mounting and is available in diameters ranging from 1 inch to 6 inches across the 700 Series line.
Designed for use with standard angle grinders and die grinders that accept a center-hole unitized wheel mounted on a compatible unitized wheel mandrel. The 700 Series is suited for applications on ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, exotic metals including titanium, and composites.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator following the tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable ANSI safety standards for abrasive wheels. Ensure the grinder is powered off and unplugged before mounting or removing the wheel. A unitized wheel mandrel sized to match the wheel is required and is not included. Inspect the wheel for damage before each use and never exceed the rated maximum RPM of the wheel or tool.
