The 3M 7000046906 is a non-woven nylon abrasive disc built for both off-hand and automated or robotic finishing operations. The disc uses an Aluminum Oxide mineral bonded into a lofty, open web construction that conforms to contoured and irregular surfaces. At 8 inches in diameter with a 1/2-inch arbor hole, it fits a wide range of benchtop and inline finishing machines. The open web resists loading, which limits debris buildup and extends service life. It is suited for edge breaking, deburring, weld finishing, and high-luster satin finishing on ferrous and non-ferrous metals including brass, stainless steel, aluminum, chrome, and nickel-plated hardware and fixtures.
This disc is designed for use on plumbing fixtures, door hardware, and other contoured components where consistent surface finish is critical. The High Strength Fluffy (HS-F) Buff and Blend construction is dense and stiff enough to withstand high-pressure automated passes without folding or tearing. It delivers smear-free satin finishes across decorative and functional metalwork applications in manufacturing, fabrication, and trade finishing environments. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and fabricators working on fixture prep and finishing will find this disc appropriate for production and detail work alike.
Designed for use on center-hole disc finishing machines in off-hand and automated or robotic configurations. Suitable for finishing brass, stainless steel, aluminum, chrome, and nickel-plated plumbing fixtures and door hardware.
Mount the disc securely onto the arbor spindle and confirm the fastener is tight before operating the machine. Power down and de-energize the finishing machine before changing discs. Verify that the machine spindle speed does not exceed the rated maximum speed for the disc. Use appropriate eye protection, respiratory protection, and gloves in accordance with applicable safety standards when operating abrasive finishing equipment.
