The 3M 7000046494 is the Part A (Accelerator) component of the Scotch-Weld Epoxy Adhesive 2216 two-part flexible epoxy system, supplied in a 5-gallon pour-spout container. It uses a 1:1 mix ratio with its companion Part B and delivers a 120-minute work life at room temperature. Handling strength is reached in approximately 10 hours with no elevated heat required. Cured bonds exhibit high shear and peel strength along with good environmental resistance, making this adhesive appropriate for demanding structural and assembly bonding applications across fabrication and maintenance trades.
This adhesive is used in industrial, commercial, and specialty fabrication environments where a flexible, high-strength bond is required. Suitable substrates include rubber, metal, wood, most plastics, and masonry products. The flexible cure characteristics make it well suited for assemblies subject to vibration, thermal cycling, or dynamic loading. This is the Part A component only and must be used in conjunction with the matching Part B to achieve the rated performance.
Designed for use as the Part A component in the 3M Scotch-Weld Epoxy Adhesive 2216 B/A two-part system. Must be paired with the corresponding Part B component at a 1:1 mix ratio to achieve rated adhesive performance.
Mixing and application should be performed by personnel familiar with two-part epoxy systems. Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of oils or loose material before applying adhesive. Follow applicable safety data sheet (SDS) guidance for ventilation and personal protective equipment when handling uncured epoxy components. Do not use Part A alone — proper 1:1 combination with Part B is required for cure.
