The 3M 7000046052 is a convolute deburring wheel designed for aggressive edge finishing, deburring, and surface blending on metal workpieces. Built with silicon carbide abrasive at a density grade of 7 (hard), this wheel delivers consistent cut and finish across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The convolute construction layers abrasive material around a fiber core, giving the wheel a controlled, uniform cut action as it wears. Maximum rated speed is 3,600 RPM. The wheel measures 10 inches in diameter with a 1-inch face width and a 5-inch center hole. This type of wheel is installed and serviced by machinists, tool and die workers, and fabrication professionals.
This deburring wheel is suited for medium to high-production deburring and finishing operations in industrial and manufacturing environments. The silicon carbide abrasive is effective on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and hard nonmetallic materials. The fine grade and hard density combination makes it appropriate for applications where a smooth, consistent finish is required after cutting or machining. Compatible tooling includes backstands, centerless grinders, die grinders, inline sanders, manual backstands, pressure assist backstands, and robotic finishing systems.
Compatible with backstands, centerless grinders, die grinders, inline sanders, manual backstands, pressure assist backstands, and robotic finishing equipment that accept a 10-inch diameter, 5-inch center hole convolute wheel running at or below 3,600 RPM.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator familiar with abrasive wheel safety requirements. Always de-energize and lock out the machine before mounting or removing the wheel. Verify that the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 3,600 RPM maximum rating marked on the wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before mounting, and ensure the arbor, flanges, and blotters are properly sized and seated before returning the machine to service.
