The 3M 7000046023 is a unitized deburring wheel designed for aggressive material removal and surface conditioning on metal workpieces. Built around a silicon carbide abrasive matrix at a hard grade density of 7, this wheel cuts quickly through burrs, scale, and surface imperfections while maintaining a consistent cut rate throughout the wheel's life. At 6 inches in diameter with a 1-inch face width and a 1-inch center hole, it mounts directly to standard arbors and backstands. The wheel is rated to a maximum of 7,000 RPM, making it suitable for high-speed finishing and deburring operations in production and job-shop environments. Machinists, fabricators, and metalworking technicians are the primary installers and operators.
This deburring wheel is suited for use on centerless grinders, die grinders, inline sanders, manual backstands, and pressure assist backstands. It performs well on ferrous and non-ferrous metals where very coarse material removal is required prior to finishing or inspection. Typical applications include edge deburring, weld cleanup, and surface blending on bar stock, tube, and flat plate in both light fabrication and production grinding settings.
Designed for use with centerless grinders, die grinders, inline sanders, manual backstands, and pressure assist backstands equipped with a 1-inch arbor and rated to accept a 6-inch diameter unitized wheel at up to 7,000 RPM.
Mounting and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or grinding technicians familiar with abrasive wheel safety. Before mounting, inspect the wheel for cracks or damage and verify the spindle speed does not exceed the 7,000 RPM maximum rating marked on the wheel. Secure the arbor nut to the tool manufacturer's specified torque using appropriate flanges, and always run the wheel inside a guarded enclosure during the initial break-in period. Follow ANSI B7.1 safe use guidelines for abrasive wheels at all times.
