The 3M 7000045930 is a Scotch-Brite EXL Unitized Abrasive Wheel designed for smoothing, deburring, and finishing metal alloys, plastics, and composites. The wheel measures 6 inches in diameter and mounts on a 1/2 inch arbor, making it compatible with standard bench grinders and finishing machines. Its unitized, layered construction holds abrasive mineral throughout the wheel body, so performance stays consistent as the wheel wears. Aluminum oxide (AO) abrasive mineral provides a reliable cut across a broad range of metalworking and fabrication tasks. The wheel weighs 1.05 pounds and ships as a single unit.
This wheel is used in metal fabrication shops, maintenance and repair operations, and light manufacturing environments. It is well suited for edge deburring, surface conditioning, and final finishing passes on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as well as many plastics and composite materials. The soft, conformable consistency allows the abrasive to maintain contact with contoured or complex-shaped workpieces, including those processed in robotic or automated finishing setups. It is a practical choice wherever controlled material removal and a consistent surface finish are required without aggressive stock removal.
Designed for use on bench grinders and finishing machines accepting a 1/2 inch arbor. Suitable for deburring, edge finishing, and surface conditioning of metal alloys, plastics, and composite materials.
Installation is typically performed by a machinist, fabricator, or maintenance technician. Disconnect and lock out power to the grinder or finishing machine before mounting or removing the wheel. Verify that the machine spindle speed does not exceed the maximum rated RPM marked on the wheel. Inspect the wheel for damage before each use and follow applicable ANSI B7 safety standards for abrasive wheel mounting and operation.
