The 3M 7000045928 is a Scotch-Brite EXL Unitized Abrasive Wheel designed for smoothing, deburring, and finishing operations on metal alloys, plastics, and composites. Built with a soft, conformable construction, the wheel maintains consistent abrasive contact across irregular and complex part geometries. At 2 inches in diameter with a 1/4 inch arbor, this wheel mounts directly to die grinders, drill presses, and bench grinders used in fabrication and finishing applications. The aluminum oxide abrasive media resists smearing, keeping finished surfaces clean and reducing prep time between steps. Unitized construction integrates the abrasive throughout the wheel body for consistent performance as the wheel wears.
This wheel is suited for bench and handheld finishing work in metal fabrication shops, manufacturing environments, and maintenance operations. Typical applications include deburring cut edges, blending weld seams, and surface conditioning on steel, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys, as well as select plastics and composites. The 1/4 inch arbor size fits standard collets and mandrels commonly found in die grinder and rotary tool setups. The wheel can run in both clockwise and counterclockwise directions, which adds flexibility in robotic and automated processing cells where rotation direction may vary by toolpath.
Designed for use with die grinders, drill presses, and bench grinder setups accepting a 1/4 inch arbor. Suitable for finishing and deburring applications on metal alloys, many plastics, and composites.
Installation is typically performed by machinists, fabricators, or maintenance technicians. Before mounting, confirm the spindle speed rating of the grinder does not exceed the maximum rated RPM of the wheel. Power down and disconnect the tool from its power source before mounting or removing the wheel. Inspect the wheel for visible damage before each use and never use a wheel that shows cracking or deformation.
