The 3M 7000045624 is a quick-change coated abrasive disc designed for use with Roloc TR-style attachment systems. It measures 1-1/2 inches in diameter and features a 60-grit ceramic abrasive grain, placing it in the medium grade range. Ceramic abrasive cuts aggressively and fractures under pressure to expose fresh cutting edges, making it well-suited for stock removal, blending, and weld cleanup on metal surfaces. A YF-weight polyester cloth backing provides rigidity and tear resistance during high-load grinding passes. Rated to 30,000 RPM, this disc supports use on standard pneumatic and electric right-angle die grinders commonly found in fabrication and maintenance environments. Licensed trades including HVAC technicians, plumbers, and pipefitters use discs of this type during rough-in and repair work on metal components.
This disc fits applications where fast material removal on small-diameter work areas is required. The 1-1/2-inch diameter and Type R quick-change mount make it practical for access-restricted spots such as pipe ends, bracket welds, and fitting faces. The orange ceramic grain in the 777F series is designed for ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It is sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 50 units, making it appropriate for shop stock or service van replenishment where consistent abrasive performance is needed across multiple jobs.
Designed for use with Roloc TR (Type R) quick-change disc holders and backup pads. Confirm that the backup pad and holder are also rated to 30,000 RPM or higher before use.
Installation is performed by pressing the disc onto a compatible Type R backup pad and rotating until the locking mechanism engages. Verify the grinder is de-energized and the air supply is disconnected before mounting or removing the disc. Do not exceed the 30,000 RPM rated speed. Eye protection, hearing protection, and appropriate gloves are required during operation per standard shop safety practice.
