The 3M 7000045176 is a ceramic-coated quick-change abrasive disc designed for aggressive material removal on metal and other hard surfaces. Built on a polyester cloth backing with a YF backing weight, this 3-inch disc mounts to Roloc TR and Type R attachment systems, allowing fast tool-free disc changes during grinding and finishing operations. At 80 grit, it falls in the medium grade range, making it suited for weld blending, rust removal, and surface prep work. The ceramic abrasive grain stays sharp longer than aluminum oxide, which reduces disc changes and maintains consistent cut rate throughout the disc life. Rated to 20,000 RPM, it handles high-speed angle grinders and die grinders commonly used in fabrication and maintenance environments.
This disc is used in metal fabrication shops, maintenance and repair operations, and light industrial settings where rapid surface conditioning is required. The Roloc TR quick-change interface is standard on many 3M right-angle grinder accessories, making this disc a direct fit for technicians already running compatible tools. It is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 50 units, making it appropriate for shop stocking rather than single-unit purchases. Applications include surface rust removal, weld seam blending, edge deburring, and general surface preparation prior to coating or inspection.
Designed for use with Roloc TR and Type R quick-change grinder systems. Fits 3-inch disc holders and backup pads configured for the TR attachment interface.
Installation is performed by pressing the disc button onto a compatible Roloc TR or Type R backup pad until it locks into place. Ensure the grinder is powered off and disconnected from the air supply or power source before changing discs. Do not exceed the 20,000 RPM maximum speed rating. Wear appropriate eye and face protection during operation, and inspect the disc for damage before each use.
