The 3M 7000045090 is a Roloc quick-change abrasive disc designed for grinding, blending, deburring, and finishing operations on metal surfaces. The disc uses aluminum oxide abrasive grains bonded to a YF-weight polyester cloth backing with a heat-resistant resin system. At 3 inches in diameter and 24 grit, it delivers fast, aggressive stock removal. The quick-change Roloc attachment allows for efficient disc swaps without tools, reducing downtime during production or maintenance work. The resin bond supports both wet and dry applications, making it a reliable choice across varied shop and field conditions. Licensed tradespeople and metalworkers in fabrication, maintenance, and industrial settings are the primary installers.
This disc is suited for use on all metals including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum in both light fabrication and heavy-duty grinding scenarios. The 24 grit cut rate makes it appropriate for initial material removal and surface prep before moving to finer finishing steps. The YF-weight polyester backing handles medium-pressure applications without breaking down, maintaining consistent abrasive contact across the workpiece. It is compatible with any Roloc-style quick-change angle grinder or die grinder that accepts 3-inch discs and operates within the rated speed.
Designed for use with Roloc-style quick-change angle grinders and die grinders that accept 3-inch abrasive discs and operate at or below 20000 RPM.
Disc installation and removal should be performed with the grinder powered off and the tool fully at rest. Verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed 20000 RPM before mounting the disc. Inspect the disc for cracks or damage before each use and do not use a disc that shows signs of delamination or deterioration. Follow applicable ANSI B7.1 and workplace safety standards for abrasive wheel use, including proper guarding and PPE.
