The 3M 7000033126 is a clear VHB acrylic foam tape designed for general-purpose bonding in commercial, industrial, and trade applications. Tape 4918F features a pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive on an acrylic foam core, measuring 0.080 inches (2.0 mm) thick. It ships with a red polyethylene film liner to protect the adhesive until installation. The tape is suited for permanent, high-strength bonds on high surface energy substrates including metals, glass, and many rigid plastics. At 6 mm wide and 16.5 meters long per roll, it delivers consistent coverage for trim attachment, panel bonding, and gasket replacement in light fabrication and finishing work.
This tape is used in applications where mechanical fasteners are impractical or where a clean, concealed bond line is required. Common scenarios include attaching nameplates, sealing light-duty trim, and bonding smooth rigid panels in HVAC enclosures, electrical panel interiors, and general sheet-metal assemblies. It performs on surfaces with sufficient surface energy for acrylic adhesive chemistry, making it a reliable choice for technicians who need a fast, toolless fastening method on flat or low-profile surfaces.
Designed for bonding high surface energy substrates in general-purpose commercial and industrial applications. Consult surface preparation guidelines before applying to painted, coated, or low-surface-energy materials.
Surface preparation is critical for full adhesive performance — clean all bonding surfaces with an appropriate solvent wipe and allow to dry completely before application. Apply firm, uniform pressure across the tape length to ensure full contact between the adhesive and the substrate. Remove the red PE liner only at the moment of bond; avoid touching the adhesive face. Allow adequate dwell time at room temperature before subjecting the bond to stress loads.
