The 3M 7000031476 is a heavy-wall, heat-shrinkable cable sleeve designed for electrical splices, connections, and terminations rated up to 1 kV. Constructed from cross-linked polyolefin, this 48-inch cut-to-length sleeve ships with a factory-applied adhesive sealant that bonds to the cable jacket during shrink, creating a moisture-resistant mechanical seal. It is highly split resistant and engineered for fast shrink to speed up installation on the bench or in the field. Electricians and cable splicing technicians use this sleeve where durable environmental and mechanical protection is required on medium-voltage and low-voltage conductor work.
This cable sleeve suits residential, commercial, and industrial electrical applications involving wire splices, conductor terminations, and cable repair. The cut-to-length format allows technicians to size each sleeve precisely to the job, reducing waste. Typical use cases include direct-burial splice protection, conduit pull-through joints, and service entrance conductor repairs where environmental sealing is a code or engineering requirement. The sleeve is applicable across a range of conductor sizes accommodated by the ITCSN series profile.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-service heat-shrink sleeve for electrical splices and terminations within the 1 kV rating class across the 3M ITCSN heavy-wall cable sleeve series.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians in accordance with NEC requirements for the circuit voltage and application type. De-energize and lockout-tagout the circuit before positioning the sleeve over the splice or termination. Apply heat evenly along the sleeve using an appropriate heat gun, working from the center outward to allow the adhesive sealant to flow uniformly. Do not use an open flame, as uncontrolled heat can damage the polyolefin material or the underlying conductor insulation.
