The 3M 7000031400 is a copper one-hole long-barrel lug designed for terminating copper conductors in high-voltage electrical applications rated up to 35 kV. Manufactured as a single-piece, seamless unit from high-conductivity copper, this lug delivers reliable electrical continuity and mechanical strength at the termination point. It features a 1/2-inch stud size, a 0.490-inch inside diameter, and a barrel length of 3.130 inches, making it well suited for 3/0 AWG copper conductors. Licensed electricians and utility technicians install this lug in medium-voltage distribution and termination assemblies where consistent, low-resistance connections are required.
This lug is intended for use with copper conductors only and is appropriate for medium-voltage cable termination work in both commercial and industrial electrical systems. Its long-barrel design provides extended contact area between the conductor and lug body, supporting secure mechanical crimping. Typical applications include switchgear terminations, transformer connections, and medium-voltage cable splicing where up to 35 kV insulation class is specified.
Designed for use with 3/0 AWG copper conductors only in medium-voltage termination assemblies rated up to 35 kV. Not suitable for aluminum conductors.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician following applicable NEC requirements and local jurisdiction codes. De-energize and verify the absence of voltage on all conductors before beginning termination work. Use a calibrated crimping tool rated for the conductor size and lug type to ensure a proper mechanical and electrical connection. Do not install on aluminum conductors, as this lug is rated for copper conductors only.
