The 3M 7000031375 is a copper standard barrel connector designed for splicing copper conductors in medium-voltage electrical applications up to 35 kV. Built from one-piece, seamless, high-conductivity copper, this connector eliminates the weak points associated with seamed or crimped-tube designs. It is sized for 4/0 AWG conductors and features a violet color code for quick visual identification during installation and inspection. This connector is intended for use on copper conductors only. It is well-suited for medium-voltage distribution systems, underground cable splicing, and industrial wiring applications where rated voltage levels reach up to 35 kV. The 4/0 AWG sizing makes it appropriate for feeder and branch circuits requiring high-ampacity conductors. At 2.1 inches in length with a 0.54-inch inner diameter, it accommodates standard 4/0 AWG copper cable geometry without modification.

Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician or licensed lineman following applicable NEC requirements and local codes for medium-voltage work. De-energize and verify the absence of voltage on all conductors before beginning any splice work. Use only a calibrated compression tool rated for the connector size and conductor AWG to achieve a proper crimp. Do not attempt to use this connector on aluminum conductors, as it is rated for copper only.
