The 3M 7000031344 is a Series 22 general-purpose vinyl electrical tape designed for insulation, color-coding, and bundling of electrical conductors and components. Measuring 3/4 inches wide and 110 feet long at 10 mil thickness, it delivers a tensile strength of 20 pounds per inch. The rubber adhesive backing provides reliable adhesion to wire insulation, conduit, and harness materials across a wide operating temperature range of -10 degrees C to 80 degrees C. Electricians and maintenance technicians reach for this tape for both rough-in work and finish wire identification tasks.
This tape is suited for residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical work. The 10 mil thickness provides a durable layer of insulation wrap for low-voltage splices and conductor identification. The black color is standard for phase marking, general insulation, and jacketing applications where UV resistance and clean appearance matter. Each roll delivers 36 yards of usable length, making it practical for high-volume jobs.
Designed as a general-purpose electrical insulation tape for use on low-voltage conductors, wire harnesses, and splices in residential and commercial electrical installations.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians or qualified maintenance personnel. De-energize all circuits and verify absence of voltage before taping any conductor or splice. Apply with consistent tension and overlap each pass by approximately half the tape width to maintain insulation integrity. Consult NEC requirements for the applicable insulation class and voltage rating of the overall splice assembly.
