The 3M 7000028446 is a convolute deburring wheel designed for removing burrs, sharp edges, and surface oxides from metal workpieces. Built with silicon carbide abrasive at a fine grade and soft density (Density 2), it delivers consistent cut and controlled material removal without aggressive stock loss. The wheel measures 6 inches in diameter with a 2-inch face width and a 1-inch center hole, and it is rated to a maximum of 6,000 RPM. Metalworking shops, fabrication facilities, and maintenance technicians use this type of wheel for edge blending and part finishing on inline sanders and manual backstand equipment.
This deburring wheel is suited for light to moderate deburring and finishing tasks on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The convolute construction — layers of nonwoven abrasive material wound around a core — provides an open structure that resists loading and maintains consistent surface contact throughout the wheel life. Typical applications include edge conditioning after cutting, stamping, or machining operations in production and job-shop environments.
Rated for use with inline sanders and manual backstand equipment. The 1-inch center hole fits standard arbors on machines compatible with 6-inch convolute deburring wheels.
Installation and wheel changes should be performed by a qualified operator following the equipment manufacturer's instructions. Always power down and de-energize the machine before mounting or removing the wheel. Confirm the spindle speed of the host machine does not exceed the 6,000 RPM maximum rating of the wheel before operation. Inspect the wheel for damage before each use and ensure the arbor nut is properly secured before starting the machine.
