The 3M 7000028092 is a coated abrasive disc roll designed for finishing applications in sanding and surface preparation. Built on the Stikit 216U platform, it combines open-coat aluminum oxide grain with a pressure-sensitive adhesive backing that attaches directly to a Stikit backup pad without disc liners. At P400 grit, it is suited for fine finishing passes on wood, metal, and composite surfaces. The 5-inch diameter disc format and roll packaging let technicians pull and apply discs quickly, reducing downtime during production runs. Licensed tradespeople and finishing specialists working in fabrication, woodworking, and light metalwork are the primary users.
This disc roll is used in finishing and light material-removal operations where a fine scratch pattern and smooth surface are required. The P400 grit level targets final prep stages before priming, sealing, or coating. Applications include furniture finishing, automotive body prep, cabinet making, and general surface conditioning. The roll format is particularly useful in high-throughput shop environments where disc changes happen frequently and efficiency matters. A compatible Stikit backup pad is required for use and is sold separately.
Designed for use with Stikit backup pads that accept 5-inch pressure-sensitive adhesive discs. Backup pad is sold separately and is not included with this disc roll.
Ensure the backup pad face is clean and free of debris before attaching each disc to achieve full adhesive contact. Align the disc flush to the pad face before applying pressure to seat the adhesive. Operate the tool at the speed rating appropriate for the backup pad in use. Inspect each disc before use and discard any disc showing tears, uneven grain loss, or adhesive failure.
