The 3M 7000028090 is a non-woven abrasive disc roll designed for wet or dry finishing and polishing of contoured surfaces. It features aluminum oxide mineral particles coated on a flexible nonwoven backing, delivering a precise, uniform finish across multiple passes. The PSA (pressure-sensitive adhesive) backing allows fast disc changes without additional adhesive. Available in precision micron-graded sizes of 2.0, 3.0, and 9.0 micron, this roll is color-coded blue for easy grade identification on the shop floor. It is well suited for surface finishing work on plastics, aluminum, brass, and copper, and is commonly used by metalworkers, fabricators, and finishing technicians.
This abrasive disc roll is intended for finishing and polishing applications on softer materials in light fabrication, automotive refinishing, and general surface prep environments. The flexible nonwoven construction conforms to contoured and irregular surfaces, making it a practical choice where rigid abrasives leave uneven results. The 5-inch diameter format is compatible with standard PSA-backed disc tools. Wet or dry use adds versatility for applications where coolant or water is used to reduce heat and swarf loading.
Designed for use with standard 5-inch PSA-backed disc tools. Suitable for finishing and polishing plastics, aluminum, brass, and copper surfaces. Available micron grades are 2.0, 3.0, and 9.0 micron.
Ensure the disc tool spindle and backing pad are fully stopped before mounting or removing a disc. Clean the backing pad surface before applying the PSA disc to ensure full adhesion and prevent slippage during use. When used wet, verify that the power tool is rated for wet operation before proceeding. Dispose of spent abrasive discs according to local regulations, particularly when used with metalworking coolants.
