The 3M 7000006369 is a flexible intumescent ceramic fiber mat designed to expand when exposed to high temperatures or open flame, forming a low-density insulation layer that blocks fire spread and retards heat transfer. Supplied as a 25 ft x 49 inch x 3/16 inch roll with a one-side aluminum foil facing, the mat is engineered for applications where passive fire protection and thermal gasketing are required. Licensed fire-protection contractors, commercial electricians, and industrial maintenance technicians install this product in code-driven firestop and insulation assemblies.
This mat is suited for both commercial and industrial installations. Its flexible construction allows it to be cut and wrapped around complex shapes including electrical raceways and fire-rated roofing system components. The intumescent action also makes it effective as a high-temperature seal and gasketing material in industrial furnace applications. It performs across a wide range of passive fire-protection scenarios where a conformable, field-cuttable barrier material is needed.
Designed for use in passive fire-protection assemblies including electrical raceway firestop systems, fire-rated roofing assemblies, and industrial furnace seal applications where a flexible intumescent mat is specified.
Installation is typically performed by licensed fire-protection contractors or journeyman electricians working under applicable building and fire codes. Shut down all power to electrical systems before wrapping raceways or conduit penetrations. The mat can be cut with standard utility or sheet-metal shears to fit irregular shapes. Follow project-specific UL or FM assembly documentation for required thickness, overlap, and fastening requirements.
