The 3M 7000006133 is a cold shrink sleeve designed for electrical insulation, sealing, and cable termination work. Made from EPDM rubber, it installs without heat — the sleeve is pre-expanded and held open by a removable core. Once the core is withdrawn, the sleeve shrinks down to conform tightly around the substrate. The inside diameter starts at 1.18 inches before shrinking and contracts to 0.55 inches after installation. The overall length is 11 inches. With a 2:1 shrink ratio, acid resistance, and water resistance, this sleeve suits applications where a reliable environmental seal is required without access to a heat gun or torch.
This sleeve is used in electrical construction, utility, and industrial maintenance work. Typical applications include cable splices, terminations, and wire bundle protection where exposure to moisture, chemicals, or physical abrasion is a concern. It is rated for use down to -67 degrees F and up to 500 degrees F, making it suitable for both outdoor installations and higher-temperature industrial environments. Minimum compatible wire size is 2/0 AWG. Electricians and utility cable splicers are the primary installers.
Compatible with 2/0 AWG and larger wire sizes within the recovered ID range. Designed as an OEM-style cold shrink sleeve for electrical cable splices and terminations requiring a waterproof and acid-resistant seal.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians or qualified cable splicers following applicable NEC guidelines. De-energize and lock out the circuit before beginning any splice or termination work. Position the pre-expanded sleeve over the prepared cable joint, then remove the internal core by pulling the release tab in a continuous motion to allow the sleeve to contract uniformly. Do not stretch or nick the sleeve during handling, as damage to the EPDM material will compromise the environmental seal.
