The 3M 7000002130 is a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) nylon hook fastener tape designed for reliable, repeatable fastening in indoor applications. The tape features a high-performance rubber adhesive backing that bonds to a wide range of substrates, including paper, cardboard, painted and bare metal, glass, sealed wood, and many plastics. A white polypropylene film liner protects the adhesive until installation. The roll measures 1 inch wide by 50 yards long with a gauge of 0.15 inches (3.8 mm), making it well suited for moderate-volume production assembly, product mounting, and fixture attachment tasks. Medium-temperature performance keeps bonds stable under typical indoor thermal cycling.
This hook tape is used in light industrial, commercial, and institutional settings where a reclosable mechanical fastening solution is needed without hardware. Common applications include panel mounting, display attachment, cable management, and component assembly where repeated open-and-close cycles are required. Its rubber adhesive formulation is optimized for indoor environments and is not rated for outdoor or high-temperature exposure. The tape ships as a single roll and is compatible with corresponding loop fastener tapes to complete the hook-and-loop system.
Designed for indoor use as a hook component in a hook-and-loop fastening system. Bonds to paper, cardboard, painted and bare metal, glass, sealed wood, and many plastics. Pair with a compatible loop fastener tape to complete the assembly.
Surface preparation is critical for adhesive performance — clean the mounting surface with isopropyl alcohol and allow it to dry fully before applying the tape. Apply firm, even pressure across the full tape length to ensure complete adhesive contact. This tape is intended for indoor use only; avoid installation on surfaces exposed to moisture, UV, or temperatures outside the medium-temperature performance range. Cut to length with scissors or a utility knife on a clean work surface.
