The 3M 7000002127 is a nylon hook fastener strip designed for high-performance pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) attachment applications. The hook side features a medium-temperature rubber adhesive backing and a white polypropylene film liner. The strip measures 5/8 inches wide and comes in a 50-yard roll, making it practical for high-volume or extended-run installations. It bonds reliably to paper, cardboard, painted and bare metal, glass, sealed wood, and many plastics. Intended for indoor use, this fastener is suited for display mounting, panel attachment, cable management, and similar light-duty trade and commercial applications.
This hook fastener strip is used in residential and light commercial settings where a reusable, clean-mount attachment solution is needed. Typical applications include securing access panels, attaching signage or labels, organizing cables, and mounting lightweight components to walls or equipment surfaces. The black colorway blends into dark surfaces and finished interiors. Because the adhesive is rubber-based, it performs best at medium temperature ranges and is not intended for high-heat environments such as near HVAC heat exchangers or flue areas.
Designed for indoor PSA hook-and-loop fastening applications on compatible loop fastener surfaces. Bonds to a broad range of substrates including paper, cardboard, painted and bare metal, glass, sealed wood, and many plastics. Not rated for outdoor or high-temperature environments.
Surface preparation is critical for adhesive performance — clean the bonding surface with isopropyl alcohol and allow it to dry fully before applying the strip. Apply firm, even pressure across the full length of the strip to ensure maximum adhesive contact. No power shutdown is required for most mounting applications, but confirm the surface is free of oils, dust, and loose coatings before bonding. Cut to length with scissors or a utility knife; avoid stretching the strip during application.
