The 3M 7000002124 is a low-profile dual lock reclosable fastener tape designed for tool-free, mechanical-style closures without hooks, loops, or hardware. The fastener features a clear polypropylene mushroom-stem structure backed by a clear acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive. Engaged thickness is 0.12 inches, keeping the profile minimal where clearance is tight. The tape delivers up to 100 closure cycles and handles low to medium temperature environments with resistance up to 158 degrees F. Each roll is 2 inches wide and 50 yards long, supplying enough material for high-volume production runs or large installation projects.
This fastener tape is suited for indoor applications where a clean, low-profile closure is needed on panels, enclosures, signage, displays, or lightweight equipment covers. It bonds well to metals including aluminum and stainless steel, glass, powder-coated painted surfaces, and a range of plastics such as polypropylene, polyethylene, polycarbonate, and ABS. It is rated for low to medium surface energy materials, making it a practical choice for substrates that resist conventional adhesives. Typical users include assembly technicians, maintenance professionals, and fabricators working in light industrial or commercial indoor environments.
Compatible with metals including aluminum and stainless steel, glass, polypropylene, polyethylene, polycarbonate, ABS plastics, powder-coated paints, and medium to low surface energy materials. Intended for indoor use only.
Clean and dry all mating surfaces thoroughly before applying the adhesive backing to remove oils, dust, and contaminants that reduce bond strength. Apply firm, even pressure along the full tape length after placement to activate the acrylic adhesive. Allow adequate dwell time at room temperature before placing the joint under load. Do not use outdoors or in environments that exceed the rated temperature limit of 158 degrees F.
