The 3M 7000002103 is a clear reclosable fastener strip designed for secure, tool-free attachment across a wide range of industrial and commercial applications. Built on a clear polypropylene mushroom-stem backing with a clear acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive, this fastener delivers 250 stems per square inch and an engaged thickness of 0.23 inches. The peel-and-stick adhesive backing bonds directly to prepared surfaces, eliminating mechanical fasteners where repeated access is required. The closure mechanism is rated for up to 1,000 open and close cycles, making it a reliable choice for panels, enclosures, and components that require routine service access. HVAC technicians, electricians, and facilities maintenance professionals commonly specify this product for wire management, access panel retention, and equipment labeling applications.
This fastener strip is supplied as a single roll measuring 1.5 inches wide by 50 yards long, giving installers ample material for large runs or multiple installation points. It is rated for use up to 220 degrees F, supporting both indoor and outdoor environments where temperature variation is a factor. The acrylic adhesive is formulated to bond to metals including aluminum and stainless steel, glass, and high surface energy plastics such as acrylic, polycarbonate, and ABS. This combination of substrate compatibility and temperature resistance makes it well suited for electrical enclosures, HVAC unit panels, and light commercial equipment housings where vibration-resistant, reclosable attachment is needed.
Designed for adhesive bonding to metals (aluminum, stainless steel), glass, and high surface energy plastics including acrylic, polycarbonate, and ABS. Both mating surfaces must use the same SJ3560 fastener material for proper stem-to-stem engagement.
Clean and dry all bonding surfaces thoroughly before applying the adhesive backing; contaminants such as oil, dust, or moisture will reduce bond strength. Allow adequate dwell time after initial application before applying closure force, per standard pressure-sensitive adhesive practice. Cut strips to length with scissors or a utility knife on a clean work surface. No power isolation is required for the fastener installation itself, but follow applicable NEC or equipment manufacturer guidelines when installing near energized components.
