The 3M 7000001962 is a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) nylon hook fastener roll designed for reliable mechanical attachment in both indoor and outdoor applications. The roll measures 1 inch wide by 50 yards long and features a high-performance acrylic adhesive backing with a clear polyethylene film liner. Engaged thickness ranges from 100 mil to 160 mil depending on mating loop material, and the printed liner measures 3.5 mil. The hook material is black nylon. This fastener is intended for use by contractors, OEM assemblers, and maintenance technicians who need a repeatable, tool-free mechanical bond in demanding environments.
This fastener roll is suited for residential and commercial applications where a durable hook-and-loop attachment is needed on painted or bare metal, glass, sealed wood, or many plastic substrates. The acrylic adhesive system supports high-temperature performance, making it appropriate for applications that experience elevated ambient conditions. Typical uses include panel mounting, cable management, access door retention, and equipment labeling in HVAC, electrical, and general mechanical service environments.
Designed for use with compatible PSA loop fastener products; intended for bonding to paint, bare and painted metal, glass, sealed wood, and many plastics in general mechanical and construction assembly applications.
Surface preparation is critical before application — clean and dry the substrate to remove dust, oil, and moisture for maximum adhesive bond strength. Apply firm, even pressure along the full length of the fastener after placement to ensure full adhesive contact. This product is typically applied by hand without special tools; no power shutoff is required unless the substrate is part of an energized assembly. Allow adequate dwell time per the acrylic adhesive system before placing the joint under load.
