The 3M 7000001961 is a pressure-sensitive adhesive nylon loop fastener roll designed for secure, re-engageable hook-and-loop fastening in both indoor and outdoor environments. The roll measures 1 inch wide by 50 yards long and features a high-performance acrylic adhesive backing protected by a clear polyethylene film liner. Engaged thickness ranges from 100 mil to 160 mil, with a 3.5 mil printed liner. The black loop material bonds reliably to paint, bare metal, painted metal, glass, sealed wood, and many plastics. This product is specified by contractors, fabricators, and assembly technicians who need a durable, clean fastening solution without mechanical hardware.
This loop fastener roll is suited for residential and commercial applications where a re-fastenable mounting system is required. Typical uses include panel mounting, wire management, display attachment, equipment securing, and interior trim work. The acrylic adhesive provides high-temperature performance, making it appropriate for environments where thermal cycling or elevated ambient temperatures are a factor. The roll format allows field cutting to length, giving installers flexibility across a wide range of fastening widths and configurations.
Designed as an OEM-style pressure-sensitive loop fastener compatible with standard nylon hook fastener strips and rolls used in panel, trim, and equipment mounting applications.
Surface preparation is critical for adhesive performance — clean and dry the mounting surface before applying the loop tape. Remove the polyethylene liner immediately before application and press firmly across the full bond area to ensure full contact. In outdoor or high-temperature installations, allow adequate dwell time for the acrylic adhesive to reach full bond strength before loading the fastener. Cutting tools with clean straight edges are recommended to avoid fraying the nylon loop material along cut edges.
