The 3M 7000001957 is a Dual Lock reclosable fastener tape in black, designed for secure, tool-free mechanical fastening across a wide range of indoor surfaces. The polypropylene mushroom-stem construction delivers 400 stems per square inch, producing a firm, audible closure with a rated engagement life of 1,000 open-and-close cycles. A rubber-based pressure-sensitive adhesive on the back bonds the tape to the substrate without fasteners, screws, or rivets. Engaged thickness measures 0.23 inches. The roll format — 1 inch wide by 50 yards long — suits high-volume or continuous-run applications where cutting to length in the field is required.
This fastener tape is engineered for indoor use where a cleanable, repositionable, or reclosable mechanical bond is needed. It performs on a broad range of substrates including acrylic, polycarbonate, ABS, and powder-coated painted surfaces, as well as low surface energy materials such as polypropylene and polyethylene. Typical applications include panel mounting, wire management, equipment access doors, and lightweight component attachment in commercial and industrial interior environments. Temperature resistance extends to 120 degrees F, making it suitable for non-heat-intensive indoor installations.
Designed for use with acrylic, polycarbonate, ABS, powder-coated paints, polypropylene, and polyethylene substrates in indoor applications. Not intended for outdoor, high-temperature, or high-humidity environments.
Surface preparation is critical — clean and dry the substrate thoroughly before applying the adhesive backing, as contamination or moisture will reduce bond strength. Apply firm, even pressure across the full tape length to ensure full adhesive contact. Allow adequate dwell time before loading the joint. This product is rated for indoor use only; do not expose to outdoor conditions, UV, or temperatures exceeding 120 degrees F.
