The 3M 7000001568 is a double-linered adhesive transfer tape designed for bonding metal and high surface energy (HSE) plastics in demanding industrial and graphic attachment applications. The tape uses 200MP acrylic adhesive, a widely recognized standard for structural joining and graphic mounting work. At 5 mil nominal adhesive thickness, it delivers strong shear resistance to prevent slippage and edge lifting under mechanical stress. The adhesive is temporarily repositionable, allowing accurate placement before final bond. Double 4.2 mil PCK layflat liners add dimensional stability and virtually eliminate curling, buckling, and rippling during storage, processing, and application.
This tape is suited for industrial assembly environments where reliable adhesion to metals and HSE plastics is required. Common applications include graphic attachment, general industrial joining, and component assembly lines where humidity exposure, temperature cycling, or solvent contact may be present. The transparent adhesive film allows for clean, low-visibility bonds. It performs consistently after exposure to humid environments and hot or cold temperature extremes, making it appropriate for both indoor controlled settings and less controlled processing or shipping conditions.
Designed for bonding metal substrates and high surface energy plastics; suitable for graphic attachment and general industrial joining applications.
Clean and dry all bonding surfaces thoroughly before application to ensure full adhesive contact. Peel the liner from one side, position the tape on the substrate, and press firmly before removing the second liner and mating the second surface. Allow final bond to develop at room temperature before applying load or stress. Follow applicable workplace safety guidelines when working with adhesive materials in industrial environments.
