The 3M 7000001314 is a lead foil tape engineered for electrical and thermal conductivity in demanding assembly and manufacturing environments. The malleable lead backing conforms to irregular surfaces and complex geometries, making it suitable for masking, shielding, and process applications where a rigid tape would fail. The rubber-based adhesive bonds to most metals and a wide range of substrates. At 6.8 mil total thickness, the tape delivers a durable, low-profile build. The easy-release film liner allows the tape to be die-cut into precise shapes or detailed patterns before application, supporting high-volume production workflows.
This tape is used in industrial and manufacturing settings where conductive masking or shielding is required. Typical applications include electroplating masking, anodizing process protection, EMI and RFI shielding, and radiation shielding. Each roll is 1 inch wide and 36 yards long. The tape resists flame, moisture, weather, UV degradation, and the chemical environments common in plating and finishing operations, making it a reliable choice for process engineers and assembly technicians.
Designed for use in industrial assembly, manufacturing, electroplating masking, anodizing, and EMI or radiation shielding applications where an electrically and thermally conductive lead foil tape is required.
Application should be performed by qualified technicians familiar with lead-containing materials and applicable workplace safety regulations, including proper PPE when handling lead foil products. Ensure the substrate surface is clean, dry, and free of oils or loose particles before applying the tape. When die-cutting, use the liner to maintain shape integrity until placement. Dispose of lead-containing materials in accordance with local environmental and hazardous waste regulations.
