The 3M 7000001255 is an XYZ-axis electrically conductive pressure-sensitive tape designed for EMI and RFI shielding applications in demanding electronic assemblies. The tape uses an acrylic adhesive system backed by a 58-pound polycoated kraft paper liner. Total construction measures 3.0 mil thick with a 4.0 mil liner. It offers medium temperature resistance and high solvent resistance, and it performs across both high surface energy (HSE) and low surface energy (LSE) substrates. This roll ships in a 24-inch width by 108-yard length format, suited for high-volume production environments where consistent shielding performance and fast application throughput are required.
This tape is used in electronics manufacturing, PCB shielding, and component-level EMI containment. It is appropriate for applications where electrical conductivity is needed across all three axes — X, Y, and Z — including grounding connections and shielding gasket replacements. Typical installers and users include electronics assembly technicians, EMC engineers, and field service professionals working on enclosures, panels, or flex circuit assemblies. The large roll format supports continuous production runs and reduces changeover frequency on automated or semi-automated dispensing equipment.
Designed for use in electronic shielding applications requiring XYZ-axis electrical conductivity, including EMI and RFI attenuation on PCBs, flex circuits, and enclosure panels where adhesion to both HSE and LSE surfaces is required.
Application should be performed by qualified electronics assembly or EMC technicians following applicable industry guidelines. Ensure the bonding surface is clean, dry, and free of oils or contaminants before applying the tape. Power down and de-energize any equipment before applying shielding tape to live assemblies or grounded enclosures. Do not stretch the tape during application, as dimensional distortion can affect conductivity consistency across the bond area.
