The 3M 7000001157 is a linerless, double-coated repositionable tape built on a clear UPVC film carrier. One side carries 3M Acrylic Adhesive 400, which delivers strong peel strength and bonds well to metals, glass, wood, paper, paints, and many plastics. The opposite side uses 3M Repositionable Acrylic Adhesive 1070, which holds reliably to most surfaces while allowing clean removal without leaving residue. The tape measures 0.5 inches wide and 72 yards long with a total thickness of 3.8 mil. It is used by trades and fabricators who need a temporary or adjustable hold during assembly, layout, or labeling work.
This tape is suited for applications requiring repositionability without surface damage. Adhesive 400 provides up to 250 degrees F short-term heat resistance and performs well in low-temperature environments, making it usable across a wide range of job-site conditions. The clear UPVC film offers UV resistance and optical clarity, making it appropriate for window label and transparent overlay applications. The tape exhibits medium resistance to common solvents and handles both medium high-surface-energy and medium low-surface-energy substrates. It is sold by the roll.
Designed for use on a wide range of surfaces including metals, glass, wood, uncoated papers, paints, and many plastic substrates where repositionable or temporary adhesive bonding is required.
Clean and dry all surfaces before application to ensure proper adhesion. When used in labeling or overlay applications, align carefully before pressing down, as the repositionable side allows adjustment prior to final seating. Avoid contact with aggressive solvents beyond the tape's rated resistance range, as this may compromise adhesive performance. No special tools are required for application, but a tape dispenser or roller is recommended for consistent pressure across the full width.
