The 3M 7000000819 is a heat-curing film adhesive engineered for high-strength structural bonding in demanding assemblies. It cures at 250 degrees F, with a low-pressure cure option down to 225 degrees F. The film releases no volatile by-products during cure, which is critical for low-pressure bonding operations. It carries moderate residual tackiness in its uncured state, allowing accurate repositioning during lay-up without slipping. The roll measures 40 inches wide by 36 yards long and weighs 11.23 pounds. It meets MIL-A-25463 Type 1 Class 2 and MMM-A-132 Type 1 Class 3 specifications and offers excellent storage stability.
This film adhesive is designed for structural bonding of metals, high-strength plastic laminates including epoxy and phenolic substrates, and honeycomb sandwich assemblies. It bonds metal to metal and metal to honeycomb core, and performs reliably with both perforated and non-perforated honeycomb core configurations. No primer is required, though it is compatible with 3M primer EC-2320 when priming is desired. Typical applications include aerospace panel fabrication, industrial composite assembly, and structural laminate bonding where volatile-free cure and low-pressure processing are necessary.
Designed for structural bonding of metals, epoxy and phenolic high-strength plastic laminates, and honeycomb sandwich assemblies. Compatible with 3M primer EC-2320 where surface priming is required.
Application is typically performed by composite technicians or structural fabricators following manufacturer cure cycle parameters. Ensure bonding surfaces are properly cleaned and prepared before film application. Power down and de-energize any associated equipment before integrating bonded assemblies into systems. Follow applicable facility safety protocols for elevated-temperature cure operations.
