The 3M 7000000709 is a Scotch-Brite Roloc abrasive disc designed for deburring, surface cleaning, and satin finish work on metal and other industrial substrates. Built on an open-web nonwoven construction, the disc resists loading and runs cool, which helps maintain consistent surface finishes across a workpiece. At 2 inches in diameter and rated to 18000 RPM, it fits standard Roloc-compatible right-angle die grinders and inline air tools. The very fine grit grade makes it appropriate for light material removal, final blending, and finishing passes rather than heavy stock removal. Licensed tradespeople and fabricators in HVAC, plumbing, and general metalwork rely on this type of disc for prep and cleanup tasks during installation or repair.
This disc is suited for use on flat and irregular surfaces, including tubing, fittings, weld seams, and sheet metal components. The conformable open-web material allows it to follow contours without altering base material dimensions, making it appropriate for finish-sensitive applications where dimensional integrity matters. It is used in both shop and field environments wherever a quick, clean surface prep is needed before brazing, welding, or coating.
Designed for use with Roloc-compatible right-angle die grinders and inline air tools accepting 2-inch Roloc-style quick-change discs.
Installation of this disc is performed by qualified tradespeople using Roloc-compatible grinders. Ensure the tool is depowered and the air supply disconnected before mounting or removing the disc. Do not exceed the 18000 RPM maximum speed rating of the disc. Eye protection and appropriate PPE should be worn during all grinding and surface prep operations per applicable shop safety standards.
