The 3M 7000000549 is a Roloc 777F coated abrasive disc engineered for trade professionals who need consistent stock removal and finishing performance in a single disc. It measures 2 inches in diameter and cuts at 36 grit using a blend of ceramic abrasive grain and aluminum oxide. The ceramic-aluminum oxide blend self-sharpens during use, delivering a sustained cut rate that outlasts standard aluminum oxide discs. A heat-resistant resin bonds the abrasive to a heavy polyester backing rated for medium-pressure applications in both wet and dry conditions. Grinding aid integrated into the disc construction reduces heat buildup, making it suitable for heat-sensitive metals.
This disc is designed for use on stainless steel, nickel alloys, titanium, and other heat-sensitive alloys where controlling grinding temperature is critical. The coarse 36-grit specification makes it appropriate for aggressive stock removal on weld seams, surface preparation, and edge blending in fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and field service environments. The water-resistant polyester backing supports both wet grinding operations and standard dry grinder use. It is installed and used by metal fabricators, pipefitters, maintenance technicians, and industrial service professionals working with angle grinders and disc grinders equipped with a Roloc-compatible mandrel.
Designed for use with Roloc-compatible mandrels on standard angle grinders and die grinders. Suitable for grinding stainless steel, nickel alloys, titanium, and other heat-sensitive alloys in fabrication and maintenance applications.
Mounting requires a Roloc-compatible mandrel attachment fitted to an angle grinder or die grinder. Always power down and disconnect the grinder from its power source before attaching or removing the disc. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and do not exceed the rated speed marked on the disc or mandrel. Eye protection, hearing protection, and appropriate hand protection are required during operation per standard grinding safety practices.
