The 3M 7000000389 is a 3-inch Roloc quick-change coated abrasive disc designed for grinding, blending, deburring, and finishing on all metals. The disc uses fast-cutting aluminum oxide abrasive grains bonded to a heavyweight YF-weight polyester cloth backing with heat-resistant resin. Rated to 20000 RPM, it delivers consistent material removal under medium-pressure applications. The Roloc attachment system allows for efficient, tool-free disc changes directly on compatible right-angle grinders and die grinders. Suitable for both wet and dry use, it is a practical choice for metal fabrication and surface prep work handled by welders, machinists, and metal finishing technicians.
This disc is used in light industrial and fabrication environments where fast stock removal and surface conditioning on metal are required. Common applications include weld seam blending, edge deburring, and pre-paint surface finishing on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The P120 grit rating places it in the fine range, making it well suited for finishing passes rather than heavy material removal. It arrives packaged in box quantity and is compatible with standard Roloc-style quick-change mandrels used on pneumatic and electric angle grinders.
Designed for use with standard Roloc-style quick-change mandrels on pneumatic and electric right-angle grinders and die grinders. Suitable for grinding, blending, deburring, and finishing on all metals.
Installation and disc changes should be performed with the grinder powered off and air supply disconnected or the power tool unplugged. Thread the Roloc disc onto a compatible quick-change mandrel until seated securely before operating. Verify the tool RPM rating meets or exceeds the 20000 RPM disc rating before use. Personal protective equipment including eye protection and gloves is required during abrasive disc operations per standard shop safety practice.
