The 3M 6118020 is a permanent cable vertical safety system designed for ladder climbing applications where fall protection is required. The system uses a 20-foot galvanized steel cable lifeline constructed in a 1x7 strand configuration with a left, regular lay preformation. It supports up to two simultaneous users and carries a single-point anchor rating of 3,600 pounds. Licensed contractors and safety professionals install this system as a fixed, building-integrated fall protection solution on fixed ladders in industrial, commercial, and utility environments.
This system is suited for permanent installation on fixed vertical ladders in industrial facilities, utility structures, communication towers, and similar applications where workers require continuous fall protection during ascent and descent. The galvanized steel cable provides corrosion resistance for both indoor and outdoor environments. The 20-foot lifeline length accommodates standard ladder runs in single-story and mezzanine-level applications. A compatible cable sleeve traveler attaches to the worker's harness and rides the cable throughout the climb.
Designed as a permanent cable vertical safety system for fixed ladders; intended for use with compatible 3M DBI-SALA Lad-Saf cable sleeve travelers and anchorage components. Consult the system documentation for compatible hardware.
Installation must be performed by a qualified person familiar with applicable fall protection standards, including OSHA 29 CFR 1910.23 and ANSI Z359 requirements. De-energize any adjacent electrical equipment before beginning work on or near the ladder structure. Proper top and bottom anchorage points must be rated for the system load before tensioning the cable. Do not modify the cable or end terminations in the field.
