The 3M 3M07537 is a 3-inch ceramic straight disc brush engineered for aggressive material removal in metal fabrication, surface prep, and weld cleanup applications. Running on a Type R Quick-Change connector, this brush mounts and dismounts without tools, reducing downtime between abrasive changes. The ceramic abrasive grain is rated Very Coarse at 36 grit, making it well-suited for stripping rust, scale, paint, and oxidation from steel and other hard metals. Round filaments in a straight disc configuration deliver consistent, repeatable scratch patterns. Each package contains 3 brushes. Installation is handled by licensed machinists, fabricators, and trade professionals using compatible Type R right-angle die grinders or drills.
This disc brush is designed for handheld power tool applications including angle grinders and die grinders equipped with a Type R Quick-Change arbor system. Typical use cases include weld seam blending, deburring, rust and paint removal on structural steel, pipe, and sheet metal. The 36 grit ceramic abrasive is aggressive enough for initial surface conditioning passes before finishing steps. The 0.37-inch arbor hole and 3/4-inch trim length are sized for standard Type R mandrel compatibility. Sold in a package of 3 brushes per order.
Designed for use with power tools equipped with a Type R Quick-Change mandrel system. Compatible with right-angle die grinders and drills accepting a 3-inch disc with a 0.37-inch arbor hole.
Install and remove using the Type R Quick-Change mandrel per the tool manufacturer instructions — no additional tools are required for disc changes. Always verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 18,000 RPM maximum rating of this brush before operation. Wear appropriate eye, face, and hand PPE when operating abrasive disc brushes. Inspect the brush for damage before each use and discard any brush showing broken or missing filaments.
