The 3M 35VI3/4 is a 7 mil thick vinyl electrical tape designed for color coding and phase identification in electrical and mechanical systems. Rated at 600 volts, it carries a flame-retardant construction and performs across a temperature range of 32 to 221 degrees F. The tape is available in violet, making it well suited for phase marking and safety area identification. Licensed electricians and HVAC technicians reach for this tape when organizing motor leads, tagging piping systems, or marking service panels and conduit runs. Each carton contains 10 rolls, with cases packed at 100 rolls.
This tape is used across residential and commercial electrical work wherever consistent color coding is required. Common applications include phase identification on multi-phase electrical systems, color coding of motor leads in HVAC and industrial equipment, piping system identification, and marking of safety zones. The violet color follows standardized color-coding conventions used by electrical contractors and service technicians. Its conformable vinyl backing allows it to wrap cleanly around wire bundles, conduit, and irregular surfaces.
Designed as an OEM-style color coding tape for use in phase identification, motor lead marking, piping system coding, and safety area marking in standard low-voltage electrical installations.
This tape is applied by licensed electricians and HVAC technicians during wiring, labeling, and identification tasks. De-energize circuits before applying tape to live conductor areas, in accordance with NEC lockout and tagout requirements. Ensure the surface is clean and dry before application to maintain adhesion. Do not use this tape as primary insulation on splices or terminations where a fully rated splice tape is required.
