The 3M 35RD3/4 is a 7 mil thick vinyl color coding electrical tape designed for phase identification, motor lead marking, piping system color coding, and safety area designation. Rated at 600 volts and flame retardant, it handles a temperature range of 32 to 221 degrees F. The red color provides clear, immediate visual identification in panel work, conduit runs, and mechanical systems. Licensed electricians, HVAC techs, and industrial maintenance crews use this tape wherever a durable, code-compatible color mark is required.
This tape is suited for residential, commercial, and light industrial applications. Common uses include three-phase circuit identification at distribution panels, color coding of motor leads during installation or service, marking piping systems by fluid type or pressure zone, and flagging safety boundaries in equipment rooms. The 3/4 inch width fits standard tape dispensers and seats cleanly under wire nuts and terminal lugs. Each roll delivers 66 feet of usable length, and the carton contains 10 rolls for job-site or truck-stock use.
Designed as a color coding and phase identification tape for use on electrical wiring, motor leads, conduit, and piping systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings where 600 volt rated vinyl tape is appropriate.
Applied by licensed electricians and qualified maintenance technicians. De-energize all circuits and follow NFPA 70 lockout/tagout procedures before accessing panels or motor junction boxes. Clean and dry the surface before applying tape to ensure full adhesion. Do not use this tape as primary insulation in place of listed wire insulation materials.
