The 3M 35GY1/2 is a 7 mil thick vinyl electrical tape designed for color coding, phase identification, and safety marking in electrical and mechanical systems. Rated at 600 volts and built to handle temperatures from 32 degrees F to 221 degrees F, this tape holds up across a wide range of service conditions. The gray color makes it a practical choice for motor lead identification and piping system coding. It is flame retardant and conforms to irregular surfaces, making it suitable for use in conduit, panel, and motor work performed by licensed electricians and electrical contractors.
This tape is used in commercial and residential electrical applications where color coding is required for phase identification, motor lead marking, and piping system labeling. Each roll measures 1/2 inch wide by 20 feet long, providing a manageable format for tight spaces and bundling tasks. The gray color is a standard coding designation used in many NEC-compliant installation environments. Sold in cartons of 10 rolls.
Designed for use in standard electrical color coding and phase identification applications including motor lead marking and piping system labeling in residential and commercial installations.
This tape is applied by licensed electricians during panel work, motor wiring, and conduit installations. Power down circuits and follow applicable NEC lockout/tagout procedures before marking live system components. Apply to clean, dry surfaces for best adhesion. Do not use as primary insulation tape where a full electrical insulation rating is required.
