The 3M 3503884 is a DBI-SALA Ultra-Loka Self-Retracting Lifeline (SRL) designed for fall arrest applications in demanding work-at-height environments. The unit extends and retracts with the worker during normal movement. If a fall occurs, a speed-sensing brake system activates automatically to arrest the fall and reduce forces on the user to safe levels. The 3503884 is rated for an 85 ft lifeline length and is built around a durable housing with a swiveling anchorage connector loop for flexible positioning. Licensed contractors and safety-qualified personnel install and inspect this equipment per applicable fall protection regulations.
This SRL is suited for construction, industrial maintenance, and infrastructure work where personnel operate at height and require continuous fall protection. The unit is appropriate for use as a primary fall arrest device on horizontal, vertical, and leading-edge applications where the configuration supports it. The self-retracting mechanism allows freedom of movement across a work area without manually managing excess lifeline slack, reducing trip hazards and keeping the lifeline clear of the work zone.
Designed as an OEM-specification self-retracting lifeline for use in personal fall arrest systems where an 85 ft SRL is required by the fall protection plan.
Installation and inspection must be performed by a competent person as defined under OSHA 29 CFR 1926.502 and applicable ANSI Z359 standards. Always de-energize or isolate hazards in the work area before establishing the anchor point. The anchorage must meet the minimum strength requirements specified in the fall protection plan — do not attach to structural members that have not been evaluated for fall arrest loads. After any fall event, remove the unit from service immediately and inspect or replace before returning to use.
