The 3M 3500277 is a twin-leg personal self retracting lifeline (SRL) engineered for foot-level tie-off and sharp edge applications common in construction environments. Each of the two 8-foot lifelines uses a 3/16-inch galvanized steel cable rated for demanding job site conditions. The unit features a quick-activating speed-sensing brake system that locks and stops a fall within inches, providing critical protection at low working heights. Constant tension is maintained on each lifeline, which reduces dragging, snapping, and trip-fall hazards. The thermoplastic housing is impact resistant and compact, and an integrated backpack-style energy absorber keeps the unit low-profile on the worker's back.
This SRL is intended for construction professionals working at foot level or near sharp structural edges such as steel rebar, concrete forms, and structural framing. The built-in connector enables direct attachment to most full-body harnesses without additional hardware, making it a practical lanyard replacement. The swiveling anchorage loops support both overhead anchor and direct-to-harness mounting configurations. Steel rebar lock hooks are included on each lifeline leg. The unit is also equipped with 3M Connected Safety ID (CSID) for asset tracking and inspection management.
Designed for direct connection to most full-body safety harnesses and compatible with overhead anchor points or direct harness mounting. Suitable for foot-level tie-off and sharp edge applications in construction. Specific harness model compatibility should be verified with the manufacturer prior to installation.
Installation and inspection of self retracting lifelines should be performed by a competent person as defined under OSHA fall protection standards. Power down or de-energize any nearby electrical hazards before connecting anchorage hardware. Verify the anchorage point meets minimum strength requirements per applicable OSHA and ANSI Z359 standards before use. Do not modify the lifeline housing, energy absorber, or any structural component of the SRL.
