The 3M 35-ORANGE_3/4X66 is a 7-mil PVC electrical tape with a pressure-sensitive rubber-resin adhesive, rated for 600 volts and designed for use across a wide temperature range of 32 to 220 degrees F. The orange color makes it the standard choice for phase identification and color-coding applications in commercial and industrial electrical work. Dielectric strength is rated at 1250 volts per mil. The PVC backing is flame-retardant and highly resistant to UV rays, abrasion, moisture, alkalis, solvents, and many acids, giving it long service life in demanding environments. It is RoHS compliant and manufactured in the USA.
This tape is used by licensed electricians and maintenance technicians in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Primary applications include phase identification on conductors, color-coding of motor leads and piping systems, insulating electrical wiring, protecting conductors from moisture and corrosion, and marking safety areas. Each roll measures 3/4 inch wide by 66 feet long at 7 mil thickness, making it a standard-size roll compatible with common tape dispensers used in the field.
Designed for use in standard electrical insulation and color-coding applications where a 600-volt-rated, 7-mil PVC tape is required. Suitable for use on conductors, motor leads, and piping systems in residential, commercial, and industrial installations.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize and lock out all circuits before applying tape to conductors or terminals. Apply with firm, overlapping tension to ensure full adhesion and void-free coverage. Avoid stretching the tape excessively during wrap, as this can reduce effective thickness and dielectric protection.
