The 3M 3100538 is a personal self-retracting lifeline (SRL) from the DBI-SALA Nano-Lok line, designed for fall protection in industrial work environments. It ships with a web lanyard and an aluminum rebar hook connector. The unit weighs 3.63 pounds and measures 9.7 inches long by 3.8 inches wide by 3.8 inches high, making it one of the more compact SRLs available for confined and low-headroom applications. A thermoplastic housing keeps overall weight low while maintaining durability under daily jobsite conditions. Licensed fall protection technicians and competent persons performing work-at-height tasks are the primary installers and users of this equipment.
This SRL is suited for industrial applications requiring reliable fall arrest at low heights, where a fast-engaging brake system is critical. The 6 ft working length makes it appropriate for overhead anchor connections in situations with limited clearance. The built-in connector allows direct attachment to a compatible full-body harness dorsal ring, eliminating the need for a separate connecting element in single-leg configurations. It is also available in twin-leg and other configurations for applications requiring 100 percent tie-off.
Designed for direct connection to most full-body harnesses equipped with a dorsal D-ring; supports single-leg and twin-leg fall arrest configurations when used with an appropriate overhead anchor point.
Installation and inspection must be performed by a competent person as defined under OSHA 29 CFR 1926.32 and applicable ANSI Z359 standards. The anchor point must be capable of supporting the required fall arrest load before connecting this lifeline. Inspect the housing, web, hook, and energy absorber for damage before each use, and remove the unit from service immediately following any fall event. Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the internal retraction or brake mechanism in the field.
