The 3M 3100506 is a twin-leg self-retracting lifeline (SRL) designed for fall protection in industrial and construction environments. The unit extends and retracts with the worker during normal movement. When a fall occurs, a speed-sensing brake system engages immediately, arresting the fall and reducing impact forces to safe levels. Constant tension on the lifeline helps minimize dragging, snagging, and trip hazards. The housing is compact and lightweight, and an integrated carrying handle makes transport to and from the job site straightforward. This SRL is sold as a single unit and weighs 2.6 pounds.
This twin-leg SRL is suited for applications requiring continuous 100-percent tie-off, where one leg must remain connected to the anchor at all times while the worker transitions between anchor points. Typical installations include steel erection, roofing, tower climbing, and general construction where OSHA 1926 Subpart M fall protection requirements apply. The twin-leg configuration allows uninterrupted fall protection during movement across a structure without ever disconnecting from the anchor system.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use twin-leg SRL for fall arrest harness systems meeting ANSI Z359 and OSHA 29 CFR 1926.502 fall protection standards. Consult the manufacturer documentation to confirm anchor strength and harness dorsal D-ring compatibility before use.
Installation and inspection must be performed by a competent person as defined under OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart M. Anchor the SRL to a rated overhead anchorage point capable of supporting the required load before connecting to the harness dorsal D-ring. Never connect the SRL to a non-rated or side D-ring. Inspect the lifeline, housing, snap hooks, and energy absorber for damage before each use and remove the unit from service immediately if the indicator on the external energy absorber has deployed.
