The 3M 19221 is a full brim hard hat built for job site head protection in demanding trades environments. The shell is constructed from polyethylene and features a 4-point woven nylon suspension with a ratchet adjustment system for a secure, repeatable fit. It meets ANSI Z89.1 Type 1 requirements across Class C, E, and G ratings, making it suitable for a broad range of electrical and general industry applications. The moisture-wicking brow pad is removable, washable, and replaceable, keeping the hat serviceable over extended use. Goggle retaining slots are integrated into the suspension. Total hat weight is 13.58 ounces.
This hard hat is appropriate for construction, electrical, plumbing, and general contracting work where overhead hazard protection is required. The full brim design provides shade and debris deflection on all sides, which is particularly useful for outdoor work. The ratchet suspension system allows quick on-site fit adjustments without removing work gloves. The shell accommodates a chin strap for added retention in elevated or wind-exposed work conditions.
Designed as a general-purpose full brim hard hat suitable for construction, electrical, and industrial trade applications requiring ANSI Z89.1 Type 1 compliance.
Inspect the shell and suspension before each use for cracks, dents, or fraying that could compromise protection. Adjust the ratchet suspension to achieve a snug fit with no more than one inch of clearance between the shell and the top of the head. Replace the hard hat immediately after any impact event, even if no visible damage is present. Follow the manufacturer guidelines and applicable OSHA 29 CFR 1926.100 requirements for head protection in construction environments.
