The 3M 1507-WHITE_48X55 is a white polypropylene line set tape designed to protect and bundle refrigerant line sets and foam pipe insulation in HVAC installations. The tape measures 48 millimeters (approximately 2 inches) wide by 55 meters (approximately 60 yards) long with a 3 mil thickness. It uses a biaxially oriented polypropylene film backing paired with a specially formulated cold-weather acrylic adhesive, providing a weatherproof bond rated for up to six months of outdoor exposure. Licensed HVAC technicians use this tape as the finishing layer on line set insulation to keep out moisture, UV light, and mechanical abrasion.
This tape is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC line set applications where the refrigerant piping runs along exterior walls, through conditioned spaces, or across rooftops. It conforms well to curved and irregular surfaces, making it practical for wrapping foam insulation sleeves on suction and liquid lines. The cold-weather acrylic adhesive allows installation in sub-zero conditions without losing tack, and the tape remains stable through tropical temperature extremes as well. No special tools or application methods are required, and the linerless, self-wound construction speeds up fieldwork.
