The 3M 1402136 is a full-body safety harness engineered for tower climbing, positioning, and suspension applications at height. Built with 6,000-pound-rated polyester webbing and robust alloy steel hardware, this harness is designed for demanding work environments where reliable fall protection is non-negotiable. A stand-up back dorsal D-ring speeds up connection to lanyards and self-retracting lifelines, while nylon and polyester hybrid padding provides all-day comfort for technicians and climbers working extended shifts. Licensed tower hands, wind technicians, and industrial climbers are the primary installers and users of this harness.
The 1402136 is suited for residential and commercial tower work, telecommunications structure climbing, and general elevated positioning or suspension tasks. The anti-slide back D-ring plate helps keep the dorsal D-ring centered and provides a convenient adapter point for connecting personal self-retracting lifelines. Locking torso-adjustment and quick-connect buckle options support proper fit across a range of body sizes in the medium sizing category.
Designed as an OEM-style full-body harness for use with compatible fall arrest lanyards, self-retracting lifelines, and positioning lanyards meeting applicable fall protection standards.
Donning and inspection of this harness should be performed by a competent person trained in fall protection systems per OSHA 29 CFR 1926.502 and applicable ANSI Z359 standards. Inspect all webbing, hardware, and stitching before each use and remove the harness from service if any damage, shock-loading, or wear is detected. Always connect to a properly rated and rigged anchorage point before beginning work at height. Do not modify webbing, hardware, or any load-bearing component.
