The 3M 1402004 is a full-body comfort vest safety harness from the DBI-Sala ExoFit line, designed for fall protection in industrial and construction environments. It features a single dorsal D-ring placement at the back for connecting to a self-retracting lifeline or lanyard. The harness is built from polyester webbing with an aluminum alloy and zinc plated steel hardware package. Padding is integrated at the back and legs to reduce fatigue during extended wear. Rated for a weight capacity of 420 lbs, this harness is sized for 2X-Large users and is installed and inspected by qualified safety personnel or competent persons as defined under OSHA fall protection standards.
This harness is suited for residential and commercial construction, industrial maintenance, utility work, and other elevated-work applications where OSHA-compliant fall protection is required. The comfort vest design distributes load across the torso and legs, making it appropriate for jobs where workers are harnessed for long shifts. The tongue buckle leg connections and pass-through chest buckle provide a secure, adjustable fit across a wide range of body types within the 2X-Large size range.

Installation and daily inspection must be performed by a competent person as defined by OSHA fall protection regulations. Power down or de-energize any adjacent electrical hazards before donning or adjusting the harness in live electrical environments. Inspect all webbing, hardware, and stitching prior to each use and remove from service immediately if any damage, wear, or impact loading is detected. Harness retirement and replacement intervals should follow the manufacturer guidance and applicable ANSI Z359 standards.
