The 3M 1402003 is a full-body comfort vest safety harness from the DBI-Sala ExoFit line, designed for fall protection in industrial, construction, and maintenance applications. Built with a polyester webbing body and hardware constructed from aluminum alloy and zinc-plated steel, this harness supports a rated weight capacity of 420 pounds. The vest-style design distributes load across the torso and legs, reducing fatigue during extended wear. A single dorsal D-ring at the back serves as the primary fall arrest connection point. Pass-through chest buckles and tongue-style leg buckles allow for secure, repeatable donning and adjustment. Padding at the back and leg contact points adds comfort for all-day use on elevated work sites. Licensed contractors and safety-trained workers install and inspect this equipment.
This harness is suited for residential and commercial construction, industrial maintenance, tower work, and any task requiring OSHA-compliant personal fall arrest. The X-Large sizing accommodates larger body frames while maintaining the secure fit required for fall arrest performance. The gray colorway and durable polyester webbing hold up in general outdoor and indoor elevated-work environments. Tongue buckle leg connections allow quick adjustment in the field without tools, making it practical for crews that need to don and doff frequently throughout a shift.
Designed as an OEM-style full-body fall arrest harness compatible with standard dorsal-attach lanyards, shock-absorbing lanyards, and self-retracting lifelines rated for single-point back D-ring connection.
Installation and inspection of personal fall arrest equipment must be performed by a competent person as defined under OSHA 29 CFR 1926.502 and applicable ANSI Z359 standards. Inspect all webbing, hardware, and stitching before each use and remove from service if damage, chemical exposure, or a fall event is detected. Ensure all buckles are fully engaged and webbing is free of twists before attaching to an anchor point. Do not connect this harness to an anchor or lifeline system without first verifying the anchorage meets the minimum load rating required by the applicable fall protection standard.
